Acceptance of work

With the development of the Internet, we notice a massive migration of businesses to the global network, and with it the growth of orders for website development. We notice that most customers have no experience in opening a website, and unscrupulous or lazy developers take advantage of this and do not complete the work.

What should a non-experienced user pay attention to?

We will give you instructions on how to accept and what to look for when accepting the developed site.

The first thing to pay attention to is the website design. The site design is usually agreed by the parties at the development stage and the client can be satisfied with the final result, but there are moments that customers and developers themselves miss.

Site design:

Site fonts - there should not be many font styles (the maximum number is 3). A large number of fonts can affect the website loading speed.

Padding - Pay attention to the padding between the heading and text, they should not stick tightly to each other, the same goes for the padding between images and block elements.

Buttons - site buttons should be voluminous so that it is convenient to click on them and attract the user's attention.

Site footer - the lower part of the site must necessarily contain interesting and useful information, because the client may scroll through the entire page of the main page and not find anything useful for himself, and if there are interesting links at the bottom, this may prompt the visitor to take other actions, which will allow him to stay on the site longer. The developer should definitely place your contact information, icons of your groups in social networks with links on the bottom of the page, and if there are articles (blog, news), then they should also be on the bottom of the site pages. It is also necessary that there is an "up" button at the bottom so that visitors can return to the top of the page by clicking the button.

Mobile version of the site

If you originally stipulated the availability of a mobile version, then you should check as closely as possible the adaptability of your site on various mobile devices - tablets, smartphones with different screen resolutions.

Pay attention to the page loading speed first. Pages should open quickly - 1-2 seconds.

It is also worth paying attention to the fact that the size of the text is readable, and just like in the main version of the site - in the mobile version there should be three-dimensional buttons, indents so that text or images do not stick to the borders of the smartphone.

Menu in the mobile version - the menu must be expandable and expand to full screen.

Site page images

All photos of the site should have the optimal size in kilobytes. If the images are heavy, this will directly affect the loading speed of the entire site.

You can check if the size of the image interferes with the loading of the site using the online service Google "PageSpeed Insights"

Using this service, you can also check the website loading speed for desktops and mobile phones. If the download speed is very slow, then the service will show what exactly is interfering with its download.

Site page titles and descriptions

Page titles and descriptions are called - site meta tags.

Meta tags are required. Many developers do not fill out this part of the site, although the title of the pages and their descriptions are very important. Thanks to the name of the pages, people will find the pages of your site in search engines, but developers often simply ignore this part of the work, because this is a separate service, but they should fill them in, or at least indicate in the title - the name of your organization and the topic of the title of the pages.

Be sure to pay attention to this! If your company is engaged in the provision of legal services, then the title should contain, approximately, the following text: "Lawyer company - Legal services in Almaty".

In addition to the title, each page of the site should contain a short description about the page. This description will be displayed on the search pages, as in the image below.

All of the above site parameters are only a small part of the technical characteristics that must be checked before accepting work. Of course, it would be wise to conduct a detailed audit of the site before accepting it, so that all open questions about the site can be resolved immediately in dialogue with the developers.

You can send a request for a free site audit to the Joomaby service. Email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or visit joomaby.com

We have given only a few points that are most often encountered. We receive many requests specifically to correct already created sites and the most common problems are incorrectly written page titles, lack of page descriptions, uncompressed images that interfere with fast loading of the site, and the lack of site adaptation for mobile devices.

If you have just decided to create a website, then you should know what points to discuss with the developers.

1. Web design - will it be unique or will it be developed on a ready-made template?

2. Whether meta-tags of the site will be registered. If so, who will compose the text for the meta tags?

3. On what engine (CMS - content management system) the site will be developed?

4. Will the site design be responsive to the screens of different mobile devices?

5. Will analytics tools Google Analytics and Yandex Metrika be connected?

6. Will the secure "https" protocol be connected?

7. Who will compose the content of the site? (Site materials: text, image, all media files).

8. Will the site be maintained? (Updating the engine, extensions, plugins).
